Review • The Library Of Fragrance Gingerbread Cologne

I have been eager to try The Library Of Fragrance* scents ever since an email popped into my inbox letting me know they had launched in the UK. When I received the press sample and was asked what one I would like to try I was overwhelmed with choice. There are so many unusual and unique smells it took me so long to decide on one. With everything from dirt to dandelion and pumpkin pie to play-doh, I decided to play it safe and went for Gingerbread.

The classic and simplistic look of the packaging makes it seem so luxurious, it wouldn't feel out of place in Liberty's. There is 30ml in each bottle and they retail at £15 each, but there is an offer on at Boots where you can pick up 2 for £25, which is ideal for gifts or if you want to layer scents (I've been told gingerbread is amazing layered with Marshmallow and Fireplace!)

Describing scents is not one of my strong points, but I'm going to give it a good go. To me, it smells more like cinnamon as opposed to gingerbread - which I prefer, as I think a full on gingerbread scent might be to much for everyday. It has the perfect mix of sweet and spicy, the scent is very strong and lasts about 5 or so hours before I need to reapply - which is no problem at all, as the bottle is small enough for me to pop in my bag.

They have 101 scents available on the website (find here), and the 28 bestsellers available at Boots (find here).

  2. I have this, also kindly gifted to me from the Library of Fragrance, and it really lingers on clothes! I've worn a jumper a couple of times after and it still smells just like the original spray!
